Scotland-based lighting cameraman and filmmaker with over 20 years experience in professional film production with clients across the UK and Europe.

I work with a range of cameras and equipment to deliver high quality footage in a number of digital broadcast formats. I’m used to working to a brief to deliver editable sequences across a wide range of styles and production requirements.

Examples of work

I recently shot a number of key sequences for the award-winning BBC wildlife series ‘Highlands – Wild Heart of Scotland’ produced by Maramedia. The National Trust for Scotland commissioned me to make a film promoting its work regenerating the ancient pinewoods at Mar Lodge Estate. I shot and edited the main showpiece film on permanent display at the John Muir Trust’s visitor centre in Pitlochry. My footage has been showcased by Getty Images and purchased by buyers worldwide.

My clients include a range of other businesses and organisations such as Renault, Grant’s Whisky, Lake District National Park, Seafish Authority, Smartest Energy, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and many more.

Aerial filming

I hold a National Private Pilot’s License and have logged many hours of flying microlight aircraft. I’m lucky to have filmed a great deal from the air. I now use drones for most of my aerial work.

Production experience

Following my BBC training over 20 years ago, I headed up production on three BAFTA award-winning feature documentaries and scores of corporate productions for clients such as KwikFit, RBS, Scottish Equitable and Whyte & Mackay.

As an assistant director, I worked on many TV dramas, feature films, promos, and commercials. You can see my list of production credits on the Internet Movie Database.

I’m familiar with the latest digital workflows and have a good working knowledge of Final Cut, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
