Scotland-based cameraman filmmaker with over 25 years experience in professional film production. For the past ten years I’ve been working as a freelance cameraman and filmmaker with clients across the UK.
I work with a range of cameras and equipment to produce top quality footage, which I can deliver in a number of digital broadcast formats. I’m used to working to a brief to deliver editable sequences across a range of styles and production requirements.
I hold a National Private Pilot’s License and have logged many hours of flying microlight aircraft. I’m lucky to have filmed a great deal from the air.
I recently shot a number of key sequences for the multi award-winning BBC wildlife series ‘Highlands’. I shot and edited the main showpiece film on permanent display in the John Muir Trust’s visitor centre in Pitlochry. My video footage has been accepted by Getty Images and purchased by a large number of buyers.
I’ve made films for a range of businesses and organisations including Renault, Grant’s Whisky, John Muir Trust, Celtic Renewables, Seafish Authority, Smartest Energy, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and many more. See my showreel
Following my BBC training over 25 years ago, I headed up production on three BAFTA award-winning feature documentaries and scores of corporate productions for clients such as KwikFit, RBS, Scottish Equitable and Whyte & Mackay.
As an assistant director, I worked on many TV dramas, feature films, promos, and commercials.
You can see my list of production and assistant director credits on the Internet Movie Database.
I’m familiar with the latest digital workflows and have a good working knowledge of Final Cut, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
